From Dashboard to Dialogue
Dashboards are great. But they require you to know what to look for. The AI Insights Engine flips the paradigm: instead of managers querying the data, the data comes to them.
We've been working on this for the better part of a year, and today it's live for all Teambridg Business and Enterprise customers. Let me walk you through what it does and how to get the most out of it.
Capability 1: Natural Language Queries
Open the Teambridg dashboard and you'll notice a new search bar at the top. Type any question about your workforce data in plain English:
- "How did the engineering team's focus time change after we reduced meetings?"
- "Who on my team has the healthiest work-life balance score?"
- "Compare this quarter's productivity to last quarter across all departments"
- "What's driving the increase in after-hours work in the sales team?"
The AI processes your question, queries the relevant data, and returns a narrative answer with supporting charts and statistics. It understands context, remembers previous questions in the session, and can drill down when you ask follow-up questions.
In beta testing, managers reported an average of 3.2 hours saved per week that they previously spent building manual dashboard queries and reports.
Capability 2: Automated Weekly Reports
Every Monday morning, the AI Insights Engine delivers a personalized report to each manager's inbox (and optionally to Slack or Teams). This report includes:
- Team health summary: A narrative overview of the team's wellbeing scores, notable changes, and any flags
- Focus time analysis: How focus time compared to the previous week and the 30-day average
- Workload distribution: Whether work was evenly distributed or concentrated
- Key anomalies: Any individual or team-level patterns that warrant attention
- Recommended actions: Specific suggestions based on the data (e.g., "Consider reducing Thursday meetings — the team's Thursday focus time is 40% below other days")
The reports are generated by AI but grounded in your specific data. They're not generic advice — they're precise, contextual, and actionable. And they save managers from the Monday morning dashboard review ritual.
Capability 3: Proactive Anomaly Detection
The Insights Engine runs continuously in the background, comparing current patterns against historical baselines. When it detects a significant anomaly, it generates an alert with context and recommended actions.
Examples of anomalies the engine detects:
- A team member's work hours have increased 25% over two weeks without a corresponding project deadline
- Collaboration between two teams that normally interact frequently has dropped 50%
- A department's focus time has declined for three consecutive weeks
- After-hours work has spiked across the organization (possible sign of a systemic issue, not individual behavior)
Each anomaly alert includes: what changed, how significant the change is (scored 1-10), possible causes based on correlated data, and recommended next steps. Alerts are delivered via the dashboard, email, or chat integration based on your preferences.
Getting Started with the AI Insights Engine
The AI Insights Engine is available now at no additional cost for Business and Enterprise customers. To enable it:
- Go to Settings > AI Features > Insights Engine
- Enable the features you want (natural language queries, automated reports, anomaly detection — or all three)
- Configure your notification preferences and report schedule
- Start asking questions!
